DeviantART - CSSNullify by Lucanos DeviantART - CSSNullify by Lucanos
Your 'style' makes my eyes hurt!TM

Description
This script adds a button to the top of any Journal Entry, allowing the Custom CSS Journal Stylings (now available to Subscribers) to be toggled on and off.

Version History

0.4.2 - Another dA Change, another Script Change.
0.4 - Adjusted to work with new HTML component layout.
0.3 RC2 - Development Only (Not Released).
0.3 RC1 - Development Only (Not Released).
0.2 - Bug preventing use on Special (ie Staff) Journals fixed.
0.1 - Initial Release.

Instructions
If you are experienced at all this, then just access the version you want from the links above in the "Version History" Section.
  • Get Firefox (If you haven't got it already)
  • Install it, of course.
  • Get the GreaseMonkey Extension
  • Restart Firefox (to Initialise the Extension)
  • Click HERE and select "Install User Script"
  • Enjoy!

Other Browser Option
If you're not using Firefox what's keeping you?!.
That point aside, you can use a cutdown version of this script as a bookmarklet.
  1. Make a Bookmark (for any page, and add it to the "Links"/"Toolbar" section)
  2. Right click on the Bookmark and select "Properties"
  3. Change the URL to
    javascript:void(document.styleSheets[0].disabled=!document.styleSheets[0].disabled);
  4. When you save the change you'll get an alert saying
"The protocol 'javascript:' does not have a registered program. Do you want to keep this target anyway?"
select "OK" (this may appear more than once.
  5. Instead of pressing the "Toggle CSS" button you can now click the bookmark instead
Note: This option may not always work (It might not remove the styling from every Journal) and it may cause unexpected results if used on any pages other than deviantART pages housing a Journal with Custom CSS.
But, hey, better than nothing.

Any chance this could be made to css-block the multi-journalled /journal/ pages too?

Firefox PWNS.

I don't know why people use *shudder* IE *cringes*

(A little piece of me dies everytime I log onto the computer under Mum's name and IE is the default browser).

I do love the Fox... And FF3 is quite a nice piece of kit too.
(If you are interested in a little bit of IE-Resistance work, you can get themes and packs to make FF look like IE, so you could slowly ween your Mum off the Blue Beast...)

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for this userscript! I've got some deviants on my watchlist who have an extremely twisted view of what good colors are for text. Now I can read their writings again without beind blinded by blood as my eyes bleed in self-defense.

You must have had a good trot so far if you haven't been blinded by Journal CSS, but, as Kim Yong Il would say - "It's inebidibull".
Plus, it's just a handy little option to have up your sleeve if you ever find a page which is just illegible.

Be sure to tell me if you have any dramas with it, too. I haven't had very much active feedback on this one, so it may have a few bugs which I haven't found yet.

Thanks for the comment, and the fave.
